Joe Should NOT have been fired!

Only three days before Penn State hosts Nebraska for its final home game of the season, Joe Paterno was fired.

Earlier that evening, Joe had already announced his planned retirement at the end of his 46th season but that was not good enough for the board who were greatly concerned with the sex abuse allegations on Sandusky. In my opinion, other than one instance where a graduate assistant mentioned possible "fondling, touching or horsing around," Joe was not aware of the situation and should not be penalized for another man's crimes. The failure for that incident to be reported is on Tim Curly and Gary Schultz because Joe had informed both of them and they did not take the information to the authorities. The students feel the same way which was shown when thousands of students descended on the administration building shouting “we want Joe back!” The students also stormed the rest of the campus with their emotions and had to be controlled by police, at times with pepper spray. "’People on the outside probably think we're just a bunch of crazy kids acting stupid,’ junior Andrew Ezzart told ESPN.com. ‘But for us, it's so much more than that. We definitely don't like the way they handled the situation. Everybody thinks they made Joe a scapegoat and this was all pinned on him.’"

Joe was a much respected coach and man. On Wednesday afternoon, he announced to his team that he would be leaving at the end of the season which caused several players to break down and cry, followed by a standing ovation as he walked out. Joe has won 409 games and has one of the most storied coaching careers, not just in football. Because of all of this, Joe should have been given more respect with regard to his leaving Penn State. He did what he was supposed to do and the board should have allowed his retirement rather than hastily firing him in attempts of clearing their names even a little bit.

"I have come to work every day for the last 61 years with one clear goal in mind: To serve the best interests of this university and the young men who have been entrusted to my care. I have the same goal today." (Joe Paterno)

1999-Sandusky retired
2002- There was an abuse accusation
2011- They are finally looking into the issues from more than ten years ago.

Internet has impacted the news because it is a fasted more precise way for people to look up news stories. The internet can spread stories faster than any news station and in more depth because it does not have a time limit for each and sources have the ability to build off of each other.

Best Customer Service-Godiva

One of my favorite stores to go to is Godiva, and this past weekend I visited the one in Columbus which had outstanding service. The lady running the counter was nice and enthusiastic. She had a lot of knowledge about the products, even offered a free piece of caramel apple truffle which was really good. After learning that I had lost my rewards key tag she gave me a new one and quickly completed my order.

I will continue to be a loyal Godiva Chocolates customer thanks to her.
